School History
The Professional Career Training Institute (PCTI) was founded to respond to the changing needs of a highly technological society, and to provide skilled workers for business, trade, and industry in the public and private sectors. PCTI is striving to become a leader in providing workforce training and consulting and other services to individuals and businesses in the Houston area upon inception and is currently offering educational opportunities in vocational and business education at its facility in North Houston, that specializes in education for unskilled workers, at risk individuals, laid-off individuals, individuals with government subsidized incomes, and those who would like to upgrade their skills to enhance their career opportunities.
Carrie Poole, the Chief Executive Officer, has been actively engaged in workforce training and development since 1990. She has a background in postsecondary instruction and program development and training and development in the private sector. She has not only been successful in workforce training and re-training, but she has also been successful in finding career opportunities in tough labor market trends. Her credentials include a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Mississippi Valley State University and a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Technology from the University of Houston with emphasis in training and development. Ms. Poole is a member of various local and national professional organizations that provide excellent education and support in occupational training and career development.
